FOUNDATION COATING

DESCRIPTION
ALCO Foundation Coating is a non-fibered, solvent based coating made up of refined asphalt and solvent hydrocarbons. It gives an effective dampproofing protection to exterior surfaces below grade, where hydrostatic pressure is not a factor.

USE
Ideal for reducing dampness and moisture infiltration through foundation walls, footings, retaining walls, tanks, culverts and bridge abutments. Installation of protection board is recommended before backfilling to protect dampproofing application.

ADVANTAGES
»  Easy application  »  Ready to use  »  Fast and economical way to protect concrete and masonry foundations from moisture penetration

PREPARATION
The surface being covered must be clean, dry and free from oil, form release agents and any foreign matter such as dust, dirt, etc. Be sure all voids, cracks and rod holes are repaired with fabric membrane. This material will not span large cracks. Use ALCO Tri-County Trowel-On or ALCO 24/7 Flashing Cement and a fabric membrane where applicable. Any repairs should be made before application.

APPLICATION
BRUSH: Use a soft bristle brush
SPRAY: Use Graco 9:1 ratio pump or equal, capable of delivering 3 - 5 gallons per minute and a pole gun with a 3/32" tip. A 3/4" ID material hose and a 1/2" ID air hose from the pump to the gun is preferred for most applications.
COLD WEATHER APPLICATION: For best results, material should be stored in a warm warehouse and applied at a temperature of 40° F. or above.
