EMULSION DAMPPROOFING
Non-Fibered

DESCRIPTION
ALCO Non-Fibered Dampproofing Emulsion consists of a refined emulsified asphalt and clay, without a fiber filler.

USE
Ideal for reducing dampness and moisture infiltration through foundation walls, footings, retaining walls, tanks, culverts and bridge abutments. Installation of protection board is recommended before backfilling to protect dampproofing application.

ADVANTAGES
»  Easy application - Spray or Brush  »  Ready to use from the container  »  Fast and economical way to protect concrete and masonry foundations from moisture penetration  »  Can be applied on "green" concrete

PREPARATION
Be sure the surface to be coated is clean, free of oils, form release agents, dirt, debris or any foreign matter that may interfere with the adhesion of this product. This material will not span large cracks. All voids, cracks and rod holes must be repaired before application. This can be done with ALCO 24/7 Flashing Cement. Material may be applied on damp surfaces but should not be attempted if rain is imminent.

APPLICATION
Stir material to even consistency and color. Emulsion type dampproofing is the breather-type which permits moisture vapor to escape through the film, while remaining resistant to water penetration. This prevents blistering of applied film, while remaining resistant to water penetration.
Material is designed to be applied directly to masonry block or poured concrete walls by spray or brush. Surface may be damp at time of application. It is most important that when applying, there is no forecast of rain. Temperature must be 50° F. and rising for this material to set.
BRUSH: Using a soft bristle brush apply in a continuous, unbroken film, free of pinholes. Brush over exposed footings, slots or grooves, etc.
SPRAY: Use Graco 9:1 ratio pump or equal, capable of delivering 3 - 5 gallons per minute and a pole gun with a 3/32" tip. A 3/4" I.D. material hose and a 1/2" I.D. air hose from the pump to the gun is preferred for most applications.
Allow 2 days to cure before backfilling.

APPROXIMATE COVERAGE
One Coat Application     40 - 50 SF/Gallon
Two Coat Application    100 - 200 SF/Gallon
Coverage may be less, depending on the porosity of the surface being covered.
