Roof Traffic Pads are defined by OSHA (29 CFR Part 1910) as an “Article”. A
manufactured item which is formed to a specific shape or design during
manufacture which does not release or otherwise result in exposure to a
hazardous chemical under normal conditions or use. None of the components of
this product are recognized as carcinogenic. Under the reporting requirements
of Section 313 of Title III or the Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act
of 1986 (SARA) and 40 CFR Part 372, chemicals listed on the 313 list (40 CFR
Part 373.65) are identified under the heading “SARA 313”.

Other
Effects: From skin painting studies in
laboratory animals, it has been concluded that some asphalts
may possess weak carcinogenic activity.
This means that workers who practice poor personal hygiene,
and who are repeatedly exposed by
direct skin contact with petroleum asphalt for many years, may
potentially be at risk of developing
skin cancer. Intermittent or occasional skin contact with petroleum
asphalt is not expected to have
serious health effects as long as good personal hygiene measures, such
as those outlined in this Material
Safety Data Sheet are followed. In addition, asphalt vapors may
contain polycyclic aromatic
hydrocarbons, some of which are known to be carcinogenic. Therefore,
prolonged breathing of vapors should
be avoided.

remove particulates.

Wash affected area with soap and water if
available.

SECTION 12 CLEAN UP AND DISPOSAL
Practice
good personal hygiene. Launder contaminated clothing before reuse. Use control
protection such as chemical splash proof goggles, oil resistant gloves, barrier
cream. Clean tools and equipment with kerosene, adhering to manufacturer’s
precautions. DO NOT USE GASOLINE OR NAPHTHA. Follow proper container management
in disposing of containers. CERCLA amendment on disposal of containers should
be followed.
